Despite the rain delays, No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic claimed the Dubai title with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 victory over Mikhail Youzhny.
Djokovic defended his Dubai title and improved to 15-2 here. He became the second player in tournament history (since 1993) to win back-to-back titles, after Roger Federer won three in a row from 2003-05.
Djokovic captured his first ATP singles title of 2010 and 17th of his career. Serb avenged his semifinal loss to Youzhny two weeks ago in Rotterdam and leads Russian 4-3 in career meetings.
It was Youzhny's fourth consecutive final loss in an ATP World Tour 500 event (two in 2010) and Russian slipped to 5-9 in ATP World Tour finals.
Youzhny is 10-3 this year and moved up two places to be 13th position in ATP Ranking.
