Elena Dementieva won Sydney title for the second successive year with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Serena Williams in the final.

It was her fifth victory against Williams in 12 encounters.

Dementieva won her 15th career title.

The Russian has now won six of her last seven finals.

2010 is the fifth straight year in which Dementieva won a title. Elena claimed two titles in 2006 and 2007 and three titles in 2008 and 2009.
